List of Top 5 Potato Producing States in India

Uttar Pradesh, contributes 30% of country's total potato production. Popular varieties grown here are Kufri Chandramukhi, Kufri Chipsona and Kufri Sindhuri.

West Bengal contributes 23% of the country’s total potato production, with popular varieties such as Kufri Chandramukhi, Ashoka, and Pukhraj grown in the state.

Bihar produces over 17% of the total potato production in the country. Popular varieties include Kufri Sindhuri, Kufri Anand, Kufri Chipsona and Kufri Lalima.

Gujrat is responsible for 7% of the country’s total production with Banaskantha district being the primary contributor to potato production in the state.

Madhya Pradesh contributes 6.68% to the national potato production. Commonly produced varieties include Kufri Chandramukhi and Kufri Lavkar.
