The Butterhead variety develops small, loose heads and is characterized by broad, oily, soft-textured leaves. With a mild, buttery flavour, it is fit for salads and sandwiches. The harvesting time is 45-55 days.

Crisphead lettuce has a tightly folded, large head with wrinkled, non-wrapping leaves. This variety has a high water content and a crunchy texture. Its harvesting time is 70-100 days. 

Romaine lettuce has a slightly sweet taste. Elongated leaves form its lobed-shaped head. The outer leaves of this variety are light to dark green in colour. The harvesting time is 75-85 days. 

Loose-leaf type of lettuce is fast growing, tender, with loosely bunched leaves. Available in different colours and shapes, they are primarily used for salad preparations. Its harvesting time is 45-55 days.

Punjab Lettuce has a shiny appearance with crispy leaves that are light green in colour. Suitable for North Indian states, this non-heading variety has loose leaves, and its harvesting time is 45-50 days.
