Top 10 Agricultural States in India: Powerhouses of Indian Farming

Uttar Pradesh is ranked 1st among the top agricultural states in India with a 15.11% share and a total production of 4.85 lakh metric tonnes.
Andhra Pradesh with a production of about 3.22 lakh metric tonnes contributes 10.01% to the total agricultural production of the country.
Tamil Nadu is the 3rd largest agricultural producing states. It produced about 2.95 lakh metric tonnes and has a share of 9.18%.
Maharashtra with a share of 8.69% and a total agricultural production of approx. 2.79 lakh metric tonnes is the 4th among top agricultural producing states.
West Bengal with an overall production of around 2.47 lakh metric tonnes and a share of 7.69% is the 5th largest agricultural state.
Telangana with a production of approx. 2.44 lakh metric tonnes is the 6th largest in terms of agriculture production. Its share stands at 7.60%.
Karnataka is the 7th largest agricultural producing states. It produced around 1.97 lakh metric tonnes and has a share of 6.14%.
Madhya Pradesh stands at 8th position with an agricultural production of about 1.93 lakh metric tonnes and a share of 6.01%.
Haryana is the 9th among the top agricultural states with a production of around 1.53 lakh metric tonnes and a share of 4.76%.
Punjab with an overall agricultural production of approx. 1.44 lakh metric tonnes and a share of 4.49% stands at 10th position.
