History of Massey Ferguson Tractors

Massey Ferguson Tractors has a rich history of 175 years. It was founded in 1847 by Daniel Massey in Toronto, Canada as Massey Manufacturing Company to serve the farmers.  At present, the company is doing business in more than 100 countries across the globe, including India.

The manufacturing of Massey tractors in India started in 1960, when the Chennai-based Amalgamation Group acquired the tractor business of Massey Ferguson India.

The Group started producing, distributing and marketing the Massey brand under the new company Tractors and Farm Equipment Ltd (TAFE), which with 18% share is the second largest tractor manufacturer by volume in the country after Mahindra Tractors.

Massey Ferguson India manufactures its tractors in Chennai, Madurai (Tamil Nadu), Dodaballapur (Karnataka), and Mandideep (Madhya Pradesh).
