Brief History of VST Shakti Tractors

VST stands for its founder’s name, Sri. V.S. Thiruvengaswamy Mudaliar. It is an Indian company that started its journey in 1911 as VST & Sons. In collaboration with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., VST Group founded VST Tillers Tractors Ltd. in 1967.

The company became popular for its Power Tillers in India. Since 1982, it has been offering 4WD compact tractors that Indian farmers highly prefer. VST Shakti mini tractors are among the best-selling tractors in the market. VST Shakti has a state-of-the-art plant in Karnataka, one in Mysore and another in Malur and Hosur.

VST Shakti is about to complete 56 years of operations in the domestic market. It launched the 927 tractors in 2022, a premium mini tractor. VST Shakti entered into a joint venture with Zetor Tractors in 2023 to manufacture premium tractors for the Indian market. It achieved the milestone of 1000 Cr. sales in the same year.
