What is the History of Cooper Tractors?

Cooper Corporation is a home-grown brand that started in 1922 as Satara Industrial Works and manufactured iron ploughs and sugarcane crushers. Sir Dhanjisha Cooper founded the company. Later, in 1928, the company’s name was changed to Cooper Engineering Works In 1934, the company manufactured the first diesel engine in India, thus starting the era of automobiles in the country. The current Chairman and Managing Director of Cooper Corporation is Farrokh N Cooper.

Cooper Corporation, a renowned name in the manufacturing of tractor engines, started manufacturing tractors with the incorporation of Cooper Tractors Private Limited on 02 May 2022.

The company recently unveiled its two tractor models at the Pusegaon Kisan Mela, Satara. These are Cooper NDC 5000 and Cooper NDC 5001. Both these tractors are of 4WD variant and fall Under 50 HP tractors category.

Cooper NDC 5000: This 50 HP tractor comes with dual clutch and 8F + 8R gear speeds with shuttle shift technology. Its PTO HP is 42, and the maximum lifting capacity is 1500 kg. The fuel tank capacity provided is 49 litres. Besides, it offers oil immersed brakes, power steering and rear tyres of 14.9 X 28.

Cooper NDC 5001: It is a 50 HP tractor with dual clutch and 12F + 12R shuttle shift gears. It has oil immersed brakes and power steering. The available PTO power for operating PTO implements is 42 HP. Besides, it has a maximum lifting capacity of 2300 kg. The minimum ground clearance of this tractor is 420 mm, and its fuel tank capacity is 49 litres.
