Mr Hari Singh founded Preet in 1980 as a tractor and mechanical repair workshop. The name of this workshop was changed to Preet Agro Industries when it began manufacturing agricultural implements.

Preet Tractors (P) Limited was established in 2001 to manufacture 35-45 HP tractors. In 2004, this HP range was increased to 65 HP. Preet has received the National Award from the President of India for four consecutive years (2009-12). Preet's manufacturing plant is situated in Nabha, Punjab, spreading across 50,000 square meters.
