Swaraj Tractors was established in 1974 with a mission to be self-reliant and develop India’s first Indigenous tractor. The first Swaraj tractor manufactured at the Swaraj facility in Punjab was Swaraj 724. Swaraj kept innovating to offer superior performance and win the trust of Indian farmers. The brand achieved a milestone of first 5 lakh tractor production in 2002.

 In 2007, Swaraj was acquired by the Mahindra Group. The brand crossed the production milestone of 20 lakh tractors in 2022. On 14th November 2023, Swaraj Tractors completed 50 years in the business.

Swaraj Tractors Latest Update

Swaraj celebrated its Golden Jubilee in April 2024 with an event organized at its Mohali manufacturing plant. It showcased limited edition tractor models of five variants: Swaraj 855 FE, 744 XT, 744 FE, 742 XT, and 843 XM. These Special Edition tractors featured metallic golden handrails, a dual-tone stripe battery box, and sleek textured graphics on the bonnet.

In November 2024, it introduced the "Swaraj Target 625" model in 2WD and 4WD variants, a significant upgrade to the Target Series of tractors.
